A classic Thailand journey blending city buzz, jungle adventure, and beach bliss, with the perfect balance of culture, relaxation, and family fun.

Day 1–3: Bangkok
Begin your Thai adventure in Bangkok, a city that’s as exciting for children as it is for adults. Explore the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, home to the giant reclining Buddha, then escape the bustle with a boat ride through the city’s hidden klongs (canals). Families can turn sightseeing into play with a treasure hunt through the Old City, or join a guided night market food tour, where kids will love sampling sweet treats like mango sticky rice. For optional day trips, visit a colorful floating market, experience the dramatic Maeklong Railway Market, or head to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital filled with atmospheric temple ruins.

Day 4–6: Chiang Mai (1 hr flight from Bangkok)
Fly north to Chiang Mai, where culture and adventure combine in a more relaxed setting. Families can visit the city’s beautiful temples, take part in a Thai cooking class, and spend a day at an ethical elephant sanctuary, where children can learn about conservation while interacting with the animals. For adventure seekers, try a zip-lining experience through the forest canopy, or explore the region’s craft villages, known for their pottery, silverwork, and textiles. Evenings in Chiang Mai are best spent wandering the night bazaar, full of souvenirs, snacks, and lively street performances.

Day 7–9: Khao Sok National Park (1 hr 45 min flight from Chiang Mai to Phuket + 2 hr drive)
Head south for a jungle escape in Khao Sok National Park, one of Thailand’s most spectacular natural landscapes. Stay in a floating bungalow on the emerald waters of Cheow Lan Lake, where boat safaris reveal wildlife such as gibbons, hornbills, and macaques. Families can explore rainforest trails with local guides, canoe along jungle rivers, and enjoy peaceful evenings stargazing and listening to the sounds of the forest. It’s an adventurous yet family-friendly way to immerse yourself in Thailand’s wild side.

Day 10–13: Koh Samui (4 hr drive + 1 hr ferry from Khao Sok, or 4–5 hr combined transfer via Surat Thani)
End your journey on the island of Koh Samui, the perfect place to relax after jungle adventures. Families can enjoy calm beaches ideal for swimming and paddling, visit colorful temples like Wat Plai Laem, and take a boat trip to Ang Thong Marine Park, a cluster of limestone islands with lagoons and snorkeling spots. Parents can unwind at family-friendly resorts, while kids make the most of sandy beaches and shallow waters. For those traveling between November and April, this beach section can be swapped for Krabi, Koh Lanta, or Khao Lak, which are at their best during the dry season.

Day 14: Return via Koh Samui or Bangkok
Fly directly from Koh Samui to Bangkok (1 hr) or connect onward to your international flight.

Start your adventure in Bangkok, where children will love the bright colors and lively atmosphere of the capital. Visit the Grand Palace to see dazzling temples and golden spires, then hop into a tuk-tuk for a fun ride through the streets. Families can join an interactive treasure hunt through the Old City, turning sightseeing into play, or taste sweet treats like mango sticky rice on a guided night market food walk. For a calmer day, enjoy a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River, where kids can spot traditional houses and bustling river life.

Day 4–5: Kanchanaburi (approx. 3 hr drive from Bangkok)
Head west to Kanchanaburi, where families can stay in a riverside or floating hotel surrounded by nature. Spend the day at the stunning Erawan Waterfalls, where kids can swim in turquoise pools and climb between tiers of cascades. A gentle bamboo raft trip along the river offers just enough adventure without being too demanding, while evenings by the water are peaceful and relaxing.

Day 6–12: Koh Lanta (1 hr flight from Bangkok to Krabi + 2 hr drive & ferry)
Fly south to Krabi and continue on to Koh Lanta, a relaxed island with long sandy beaches, calm seas, and family-friendly resorts. The pace here is ideal for little ones — days can be spent paddling, building sandcastles, or enjoying the pool. For light adventure, try kayaking through mangroves, spotting monkeys and crabs. Evenings are simple, with beach barbecues and spectacular sunsets.
(Seasonal note: if traveling between May and October, swap Koh Lanta for Koh Samui, which has better weather during the summer months.)

Day 13–14: Return via Krabi or Koh Samui
Fly back to Bangkok for your international departure.

Day 4–5: Kanchanaburi (approx. 3 hr drive from Bangkok)

Staying in a riverside or floating lodge gives families a sense of adventure while still being comfortable.

Day 6–8: Khao Sok National Park (1 hr flight from Bangkok to Surat Thani + 2 hr drive)
Fly south and dive into the wilderness of Khao Sok National Park. Stay in a floating bungalow on Cheow Lan Lake, where boat safaris reveal gibbons, hornbills, and macaques. Teens can hike rainforest trails, swim in the lake, and canoe beneath towering limestone cliffs. For families who want to add an elephant experience without flying north, consider a stay at Elephant Hills, where teens can learn about conservation and help feed and bathe rescued elephants as part of the program. Evenings are unplugged, with stargazing and jungle sounds all around.

Day 9–13: Krabi (or Koh Samui in summer)
Finish your journey with beach time. In Krabi, adventurous teens can try rock climbing at Railay Beach, go island-hopping by speedboat, or snorkel in hidden lagoons. Between May and October, swap Krabi for Koh Samui, which has sunnier weather and equally family-friendly activities like paddleboarding, waterfall hikes, and relaxed beach days.

For those seeking an elephant experience, consider a stay at Elephant Hills, where families can learn about and interact with rescued elephants in an ethical way.

Day 9–13: Khao Lak (approx. 3 hr drive from Khao Sok)
End your trip with a relaxed beach stay in Khao Lak, a quieter alternative to Krabi. The long, uncrowded beaches are perfect for younger kids to play safely, while older children and teens can try snorkelling or diving trips to the Similan Islands. Kayaking through mangroves, visiting local night markets, or simply enjoying the pool at a family-friendly resort ensures there’s something for everyone. In the evenings, head to a local night market away from the crowds — a fun way to ease into Thailand.

Day 3–5: Sukhothai (1 hr flight from Bangkok)
Travel north to the ancient city of Sukhothai, Thailand’s first capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Families can explore the temple ruins by bicycle, a fun way for kids to discover history among lotus ponds and crumbling Buddha statues. With far fewer tourists than Ayutthaya, it’s a peaceful cultural stop where children can explore freely and parents can soak up the atmosphere.

Day 6–8: Chiang Rai (3 hr drive from Sukhothai)
Continue north to Chiang Rai, a smaller, more laid-back alternative to Chiang Mai. Visit the surreal White Temple and colorful Blue Temple, which are striking and engaging even for kids. Unlike busy Phuket or Krabi, Koh Yao Noi offers peace, authenticity, and an off-the-beaten-path vibe that’s perfect for winding down.

In the evenings, join a night market food tour, where kids can discover Thailand’s street food culture one snack at a time.

Day 4–5: Ayutthaya (1.5 hr drive from Bangkok)
Travel to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Families can cycle or tuk-tuk between temple ruins, making it an active and engaging history lesson. Sunset by the riverside adds a magical close to the day.

Day 6–7: Chiang Mai (1 hr flight from Bangkok)
Fly north to Chiang Mai, a hub of culture and creativity.
